41. Check to make sure that all washers and the shim
are properly placed.
42. Apply a thin bead of silicone sealer around the entire
perimeter of the case. Avoid applying the sealer too
heavily as it may be squeezed into the case cavity.
Be sure the dowel pins are in their bores.
43.Torque the cover screws using a crossing
pattern. Torque for a new case is different than a
used assembly.
New case (20-23 ft lbs.)
Used case (17-20 ft lbs.)
44. Install a new seal on the reduction shaft.
45. Push down on the motor gear and check the reduc-
tion shaft for end play.
46. Install brake drum with retaining ring.
