Switching
your
wireless
network
to
WEP
The
Sky
wireless router
is
set
to
WPA
encryption
by
default.
If
you
are
using a wireless adapter or computer that does
not
support
WPA
,
you
can
use
WEP
encryption instead.
To
set this
up,
follow
the steps
below:
1.
Switch
the
Sky
wireless
router
to
WEP
encryption
•
Make
sure
your
computer
is
connected
by
the Ethernet cable
to
the
Sky
wireless router,
and
open a web browser window (Internet
Explorer
etc.). type
192
.168.0.1
in
the address
bar,
and
hit
Enter.
•
You
will
be
prompted
to
login
to
the
Sky
wireless
router-
enter
Admin
for
Username
and
Sky
for
Password
.
•
In
the left
hand
navigation menu, select
Wireless
Settings.
•
In
the Wireless Settings window,
scroll
down
to
Security
Options
section -
WPA-
PSK
encryption
will
be
selected
as
this is the default
setting. Select the
WEP
option
instead
-the
screen
will
automatically
display
WEP
Security
Encryption
options
below.
•
Leave
Authentication
Type
as
Automatic.
•
In
the
Encryption
Strength
drop
down
menu, select 128
bit.
•
In
the Passphrase
box,
enter 8 characters (letters
and
numbers)
and
select Generate- this
will
automatically generate a
26
character
WEP
Key
for
you
.
•
Make
a note
of
the characters listed
in
the
Key
1
bo
x - this
will
be
your
new
WEP
Key
.
Important:
You
will
need
to
use
this
WEP
Key
to
set
up
your wireless connection,
so
be
sure
to
write
it
down
exactly
as
it
appears (including uppercase letters,
not
lowercase) -
e.g.
5CD9894140A6FF7EB896AF6789.
Keep
your
WEP
key
handy
and
secure
-you
will
need
it
any
time
you
want
to
add
a
new
computer
or
device
to
your wireless network.
•
Finally,
click
the
Apply
button
at
the bottom
of
the
page
to
save
and
enable the
new
wireless configuration
on
the
Sky
wireless
router.
