Switching your wireless
network to WEP
The Sky wireless router is set to WPA encryption by default. If you are
using a wireless adapter or computer that does
not support WPA , you
can use WEP encryption instead. To set this up, follow the steps below:
1. Switch the Sky wireless router to WEP encryption
• Make sure your computer is connected by the Ethernet cable to the
Sky wireless router, and open a web browser window (Internet
Explorer etc.). type 192 .168.0.1 in the address bar, and hit Enter.
• You will be prompted to login to the Sky wireless router- enter
Admin for Username and Sky for Password .

In the left hand navigation menu, select Wireless Settings.
• In the Wireless Settings window, scroll down to Security Options
section - WPA- PSK encryption will be selected as this is the default
setting. Select the
WEP option instead -the screen will automatically
display
WEP Security Encryption options below.
• Leave Authentication Type as Automatic.
• In the Encryption Strength drop down menu, select 128 bit.
• In the Passphrase box, enter 8 characters (letters and numbers)
and select Generate- this will automatically generate a 26 character
WEP Key for you .
• Make a note of the characters listed in the Key 1 bo x - this will be
your new WEP Key . Important: You will need to use this WEP Key
to set up your wireless connection, so be sure to write it down
exactly as it appears (including uppercase letters, not lowercase) -
e.g.
5CD9894140A6FF7EB896AF6789. Keep your WEP key handy
and secure -you will need it any time you want to add a new
computer or device to your wireless network.

Finally, click the Apply button at the bottom of the page to save
and enable the new wireless configuration on the Sky wireless router.
