Overview

This document serves as a comprehensive user manual for a refrigeration appliance, detailing its functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance procedures.

Function Description

The appliance is designed for the refrigeration and conservation of fresh and frozen foods in a domestic or similar environment. It features separate compartments for fresh food (refrigerator) and frozen food (freezer). The refrigerator compartment is equipped with interior lighting, shelves for arranging foodstuffs, a super-cold drawer for delicate foods like meat and fish, and a fruit and vegetable drawer to maintain optimal humidity. The freezer compartment is used for storing frozen foods, freezing fresh foods, and producing ice cubes. A fan distributes temperature evenly within the appliance and reduces condensation. A thermostat allows users to set the desired temperature for both compartments.

Important Technical Specifications

The appliance operates with a compression system for cooling. It contains a small quantity of isobutane (R600a) as a refrigerant. The climate class indicates the suitable room temperature ranges for operation:

  • SN (Subnormal): +10°C to +32°C
  • N (Normal): +16°C to +32°C
  • ST (Subtropical): +18°C to +38°C
  • T (Tropical): +18°C to +43°C

The appliance contains light sources of efficiency class "F". Ventilation requirements, dimensions, and minimum space from the rear wall are detailed in the "Installation" chapter. The identification plate, located inside the appliance, provides technical data, serial number, and brand name. The appliance conforms to the WEEE European directive (2012/19/EU) for disposal.

Usage Features

  • First Use: After installation or repositioning, the appliance should remain off for at least two hours before activation.
  • Temperature Setting: A thermostat knob allows adjustment from minimum to maximum (position 5). Increasing the setting (e.g., from to 5) decreases the temperature in the refrigerator compartment.
  • Rapid Cooling Function: This function, activated by turning the thermostat knob to "SF" position, quickly cools large quantities of fresh food and drink. It remains active for a maximum of 24 hours, after which the knob should be returned to the desired position (between and 5) to save energy.
  • Alarm for Door Open: A sound and visual signal (flashing interior lights) alerts the user if the door is left open for an extended period.
  • Shelves: Adjustable to different heights, they feature a safety fitting to prevent accidental removal. Perishable foods should be placed at the rear where the temperature is lower.
  • Super-cold Drawer: Maintains freshness and flavor of delicate foods (meat, fish, lightly frozen foods) for longer periods, with temperatures between -2°C and +3°C. It is not for freezing food or making ice.
  • Fruit and Vegetable Drawer: Located at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment, it is fitted with a glass shelf and a humidity regulator to maintain constant humidity for fresh produce.
  • Door Balconies and Shelves: Suitable for storing eggs, butter, dairy products, conserves, small food packages, and bottles. Heavy bottles should be handled with care.
  • Food Storage: Foods should be wrapped and covered hermetically to preserve flavor, moisture, and freshness, and to prevent contamination and excessive humidity. Hot foods and drinks must be cooled to room temperature before being placed in the appliance.
  • Freezer Storage: Fruit and vegetables should be packed in portions of no more than 1 kg, and meat and fish in portions of up to 2 kg for quick freezing and better preservation of nutritional properties. Foods should be packaged in hermetically sealed freezer bags or containers, expelling as much air as possible.
  • Storage Life: A table provides estimated storage durations for various frozen foods, ranging from 1 month (lean fish) to 10-12 months (fruit, beef). Defrosted foods should be consumed as soon as possible.
  • Turning Off: For long periods of disuse, the appliance should be unplugged, emptied, defrosted (freezer), dried, and the door left ajar to prevent odors.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The appliance's interior walls have antibacterial protection but should be cleaned regularly with diluted liquid detergent, warm water, and a little vinegar. The exterior can be cleaned with water or alcohol-based liquid detergents, avoiding aggressive products and rough sponges. The condenser at the rear should be cleaned periodically with a soft brush, and the tank above the compressor should also be cleaned. Door balconies and shelves are removable for cleaning.
  • Defrosting: The refrigerator compartment defrosts automatically. Defrost water is channeled to a pan at the back where it evaporates. The freezer compartment requires manual defrosting when frost or ice exceeds 2 cm. Before defrosting the freezer, the thermostat should be set to maximum for a few hours. Frozen foods should be removed and protected from thawing. Electrical appliances or sprays should not be used for defrosting to avoid damaging plastic parts.
  • Interior Lighting: If damaged, interior lighting must be repaired by Technical Service only.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides guidance for common issues such as the appliance not working, the compressor running too often, excessive ice/condensation, insufficient cooling, or doors being hard to open or misaligned.
  • Installation: The appliance must be connected to ground in compliance with electrical safety standards. It should be positioned on a firm, level surface, at least 3 cm away from heat sources (cookers, radiators) and 30 cm from combustion heaters. If installed under wall units, a minimum of 5 cm clearance is required. Spacers are provided to ensure proper condenser cooling and prevent the appliance from being placed too close to the wall. The appliance has small wheels at the back for easier movement and adjustable feet at the front for leveling. The power supply cable should not be caught or damaged during positioning.
