Usage Features

Temperature Setting:

The refrigerator temperature can be set between +34 °F and +46 °F, while the freezer temperature can be set between 0 °F and -11 °F. The set temperature is displayed on the respective screens.

Refrigerator Supercold Function:

This function is designed for rapid cooling of large food quantities. It activates for one hour and then automatically reverts to the previous temperature setting.

Vacation Function:

Ideal for prolonged absences, this function turns off the refrigerator compartment while keeping the freezer active. To activate, press and hold the corresponding button for 3 seconds. When active, the temperature display will show dashes, and the indicator will light up. It is recommended to remove all stored products from the refrigerator compartment when using this function. To prevent odors, a temperature of approximately 59 °F will be maintained in the refrigerator compartment.

ECO Mode:

This mode reduces power consumption after 6 hours of activation. It can be activated or deactivated by pressing and holding the "ECO" button for 3 seconds. The "ECO" indicator will light up when active. Note that activating the supercold function (for either refrigerator or freezer) will deactivate the ECO mode.

Alarms:

  • Door Open Alarm: If the refrigerator door remains open for too long, an audible alarm will sound. Press the alarm deactivation button to silence it.
  • High Temperature Alarm: If the compartment temperature rises due to a power failure or appliance fault, an alarm will sound, and the alarm warning indicator will light up. Check the food and press the alarm deactivation button.

Accessories:

  • Shelves: These can be adjusted to different heights and are designed with a safety fitting to prevent accidental removal. Perishable foods should be placed at the rear of the shelves where the temperature is lower.
  • Supercold Drawer: This drawer maintains freshness and flavor of delicate foods like meat, fish, and lightly frozen items, keeping a constant temperature between +28°F and +37°F. It is not suitable for freezing food or making ice.
  • Fruit and Vegetable Drawer: Located at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment, this drawer helps maintain a constant humidity level for fruits and vegetables. Condensation on the glass shelf above is normal due to high water content in vegetables.
  • Freezer Drawers: Used for storing frozen and deep-frozen foods. They can be removed by pulling them forward and lifting the front part.
  • Door Balconies and Shelves: Suitable for storing small containers, eggs, butter, dairy products, preserves, and bottles. Avoid placing excessively heavy bottles on the lower shelf.

Ventilation:

The appliance features forced recirculation air, which is humidity-free and quickly dries food. The inner ventilation system ensures rapid cooling and homogeneous refrigeration. Always seal food thoroughly before placing it in the appliance.

Food Storage Advice:

  • Refrigerator Compartment: Arrange food in wrapped and hermetically covered containers to preserve flavor, moisture, and freshness, prevent odor contamination, and control humidity. Always allow hot foods and drinks to cool to room temperature before placing them in the appliance.
    • Eggs, smoked meats, marinated foods, cheese: max 10 days
    • Root vegetables: max 8 days
    • Butter: max 7 days
    • Pastries, fruit, ready meals, fresh meat: max 2 days
    • Fish, minced meat, seafood: max 1 day
  • Freezer Compartment: Pack fruit and vegetables in portions of no more than 2.20 oz, and meat and fish in portions of up to 4.40 oz. Use small, hermetically sealed packages, expelling as much air as possible. Do not use paper bags or shopping bags; use suitable freezer bags/containers. Avoid contact between frozen and fresh food. Always allow hot foods and drinks to cool to room temperature before placing them in the appliance.
    • Fruit, beef: max 10-12 months
    • Vegetables, veal, poultry: max 8-10 months
    • Game: max 6-8 months
    • Pork: max 4-6 months
    • Mince: max 4 months
    • Bread, desserts, cooked foods, oily fish: max 3 months
    • Offal: max 2 months
    • Sausages, lean fish: max 1 month
  • Defrosted Foods: Do not refreeze foods that have partly or completely defrosted. Consume defrosted food as soon as possible. Partial defrosting can reduce nutritional value.

Noises During Operation:

The appliance uses a compression system for cooling, which may produce a buzzing noise when the compressor starts. Gurgling sounds from the coolant flowing through pipes are also normal. If noises become too loud, check that the appliance is level, drawers and shelves are correctly positioned, bottles are stable, and the refrigerator is not in contact with furniture or other appliances.

Heated Front Surface:

A heating system on the front surface limits condensation around the door seal.

Turning the Appliance Off:

For prolonged periods of disuse, turn off the appliance by holding the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds. Unplug it, empty the compartments, and dry any residual moisture after defrosting. Leave the door ajar to prevent odors.

Practical Energy Saving Advice:

  • Use the appliance correctly and package foodstuffs properly.
  • Minimize door openings and their duration.
  • Periodically clean the condenser at the rear of the appliance.
  • Defrost frozen food in the refrigerator compartment to utilize its cold.

Temperature Scale:

This function allows switching between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) by pressing the "supercold" and "ECO" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The unit retains the previously set temperature scale after a power failure.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning and Maintenance Instructions:

  • Always turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance.
  • Do not pull the cable to remove the plug.
  • Use nonflammable cleaners.
  • Caution: Do not use steam jets, cleaning products containing chlorine, ammonia, or bleach on steel or metallic surfaces. Avoid abrasive or corrosive detergents, rough materials, sharp metal scrapers, or cleaning cold glass shelves with warm water. Glass shelves and covers are heavy; handle with care.

Cleaning the Outside:

Clean with water or alcohol-based liquid detergents (e.g., window cleaning products). Avoid aggressive detergents and rough sponges. Use a soft brush to remove dust from the condenser at the rear. Clean the tank above the compressor.

Cleaning the Inside:

Clean with diluted liquid detergent and warm water, adding a little vinegar. Door balconies and shelves can be removed for cleaning. Do not use sharp objects or spray products. The antibacterial protection on interior walls requires regular cleaning to maintain effectiveness.

Defrosting:

The refrigerator and freezer compartments feature automatic defrosting. Any ice that forms on the refrigeration plate melts when the compressor is off. Defrost water is channeled to a dedicated pan at the back of the appliance, where it evaporates from the compressor's heat. Occasional frost in the freezer compartment is normal.

  • Caution: Do not use electrical appliances (e.g., hair dryers) or sprays for defrosting, as this can damage plastic parts.

Interior Lighting:

If the interior lighting is damaged, it must be repaired by Technical Service only.

Troubleshooting ("What to do if...")

  • Appliance does not work: Check if it's plugged in and the main switch is on.
  • Compressor functions too often/continuously: Could be due to high room temperature, frequent/long door openings, improper door sealing, too many fresh foods in the freezer, insufficient air circulation around the refrigerator sensor, or a dirty condenser.
  • Excessive ice/condensation in refrigerator: Check for frequent/long door openings, hot foods placed inside, food/containers touching the rear wall, or a damaged/dirty door seal.
  • Refrigerator compartment not sufficiently cold: Check if the thermostat is set too high, frequent/long door openings, improper door sealing, or high room temperature.
  • Refrigerator compartment too cold/food freezing: Check if the thermostat is set too low, food not in suitable containers, wet fruits/vegetables, or food placed against the rear wall.
  • Freezer compartment not cold enough: Check if the thermostat is set too high, frequent/long door openings, improper door sealing, damaged/dirty door seal, or large quantities of sugar in food to be frozen.
  • Excessive ice in freezer compartment: Check if the thermostat is set too low, high room temperature, frequent/long door openings, improper door sealing, damaged/dirty door seal, or hot foods placed inside.
  • Doors hard to open after closing: This is due to a vacuum created by cooling warm air.
  • Doors are misaligned: Check and adjust the appliance's level using its feet.
