How to calibrate* the HI-SCAN X-ray unit
Set the conveyor to reverse run by means of the first menu function Position conveyor in order to clear the
tunnel from all items.
On all unit types without lateral cabinet and on dual view units*, if the main monitor shows the bag-
gage and freight items in the scanning view from the top (F 2-33):
Reverse the conveyor until the conveyor belt joint or the zipper has reached the position just under-
neath the lead curtain at the tunnel exit.
Now place the calibration body 1 (step wedge) in front of the lead curtain at the input side on the con-
veyor, as illustrated. The pointed end of the body is always to be directed towards the inspection tunnel.
All unit types without side cabinet carrying the illustrated labels
above the tunnel entrances:
The right or left side of the body must be in line with the edge of the
conveyor belt above which the label is situated. Depending on the
unit's layout, this can be the left or right side.
All unit types without side cabinet, not carrying any of the illus-
trated labels above the tunnel entrances (except HI-SCAN 6030di,
13090 and 130100):
The right side of the body - viewed in conveying direction - must be in
line with the right edge of the conveyor belt.
