Operation
Changing “L” or “H” Mode
A
Figure 2:
A – Gear Selector Slide
To change the mode of operation:
NOTE: To prevent damage to the gears in the
transmission, the motor must be completely stopped
before changing the lever to the “L” or “H” (low or high)
mode of operation.
“L” (low output/high pressure)
“H” (high output/low pressure)
1. When motor is not running, push the lever until letter
“L” or “H” is completely visible in the window.
2. In case the lever is not completely shifted/engaged,
hold the lever and toggle the switch to engage gears.
3. High output is recommended if the tool is used to
lubricate large bearings not requiring high pressure,
beyond 2,000 psi (137 bar). Also, high output is
recommended if tool is used to refill small reservoirs of
automatic lubrication systems.
4. Low output is recommended if the tool is used in
construction, mining applications and general
lubrication. Low output will provide the maximum
pressure of up to 7,500 psi (517 bar) the tool is capable
of producing.
5. It is normal for batteries to lose their power retention
capacity over hundreds of charge cycles. Replace the
battery when this happens.
6. Prime the Grease gun after each refill or grease cartridge
change. Prime the gun before using it to lubricate grease
points.
7. To prime, operate the gun until grease flows from the
hose. Use vent valve to expel air pockets.
Installing Grease Cartridge
1. While holding grease gun container tube, loosen
grease gun head two turns.
2. Pull T-handle to extend follower rod fully and slide
into slot.
3. Unscrew container tube from grease gun head.
4. Remove empty grease cartridge (if present) from
container tube.
5. Remove large cap from top end of new grease
cartridge.
6. Insert new grease cartridge top end first into
container tube.
7. Remove pull tab from bottom end of new grease
cartridge.
8. Screw container tube back onto grease gun head and
tighten.
9. Pull lever handle away from container tube.
10. Pull back and remove follower rod from slot.
11. Turn T-handle 90° and push into container tube.
12. Loosen grease gun head two turns to expel air and
retighten.
NOTE: Air pockets in the cartridge lubricant will cause the
gun to lose prime.
Figure 3:
Fill Grease Gun from Bulk Container
1. While holding grease gun container tube, loosen
grease gun head two turns.
2. Pull T-handle to extend follower rod fully and slide
into slot.
3. Unscrew container tube from grease gun head.
4. Remove empty cartridge (if present) from container
tube.
5. Pull T-handle back and remove follower rod from slot.
6. Pack lubricant into cavity of the grease gun head and
onto surface of the follower assembly.
7. Insert the open end of the container tube into
lubricant.
