Maintenance
WARNING!
To avoid possible shock or personal injury,
servicing other than fuse or battery
replacement must be done by authorized
personnel.
General Maintenance
Clean the external surfaces of the meter with a damp cloth
and mild detergent. Do not immerse in water.
Testing Internal Fuses
Both the A and mAμA input jacks are fuse protected.
The fuses can be tested without removing them from the
instrument as follows:
1. Set the EEDM596F to the diode test function.
2. Insert the red test lead into the V input jack.
3. Touch the tip of the red test lead into the A input
jack making sure you contact the metal.
4. If the display reads any number, the fuse is good. If
the display reads OL, the fuse is open and must be
replaced.
5. Repeat the same procedure for the uAmA input
jack.
Battery and Fuse Replacement
WARNING!
To avoid possible shock or personal injury,
remove the test leads from the instrument
before opening rear cover. Use only
replacement fuses and battery noted under
the “Replacement Parts” section.
