MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
STEERING ADJUSTMENT
STEERING SECTOR
Should excessive "PLAY" be present in the steering,
adjust as follows:
Turn Engine "OFF" and raise tractor hood.
Remove spark plug wire from spark plug and secure wire
away from plug.
From left side of tractor, locate the steering sector below
fuel tank. See Figure 71.
Loosen eccentric mounting nut.
Rotate eccentric clockwise until steering "PLAY" is re¬
duced. See Figure 71.
Tighten eccentric mounting nut.
Replace spark plug wire onto spark plug and lower hood.
SHIFTER ADJUSTMENT
If movement of tractor does not correspond with the
selected speed on shift quadrant, adjust the speed control
lever as follows:
With engine running, drive tractor and move shift lever to
locate neutral.
Turn engine "OFP.
Raise hood, remove spark plug wire from spark plug and
secure wire away from plug.
Locate speed control lever mount behind right rear tire.
See Figure 72.
Loosen mounting nuts.
Move the speed control lever until it is in direct relation to
the neutral "N" position on quadrant. See Figure 73.
Tighten mounting nuts.
