Overview

The Sofirn SC21 Pro is an upgraded EDC (Everyday Carry) flashlight designed for both indoor and outdoor use. It features the latest Anduril 2.0 UI, distinguishing it from its predecessor, the SC21. The flashlight is powered by a single 16340 rechargeable lithium-ion battery and includes a convenient USB-C port for charging. It utilizes a super bright LH351D LED, capable of producing up to 1100 lumens, catering to various lighting needs.

Function Description:

The SC21 Pro offers a range of lighting modes and features, primarily controlled through its Anduril 2.0 user interface. By default, it operates in a "Simple UI" mode, which provides basic flashlight functions suitable for general use or when lending the light to others. This mode limits minimum and maximum brightness for safety and blocks complex or advanced functions. For users seeking more control and advanced features, an "Advanced UI" is available, offering a comprehensive suite of modes including various strobes, utility functions, and configurable settings.

The flashlight incorporates a power indicator in the side switch, which displays the battery status for 5 seconds after activation: green for good power, red for poor power (less than 30%), and flashing red for critical power, indicating the need for immediate recharge or battery replacement.

Important Technical Specifications:

Usage Features:

  • Quick Start: After battery insertion and tightening, the light blinks once to confirm operation. A single click turns the light on/off, and holding the button changes brightness. Releasing and holding again reverses the brightness change direction.
  • Mode Memory: Memorizes the last brightness level used.
  • Reverse Polarity Protection: Prevents damage from improper battery installation.
  • Low Voltage Warning: The LED indicator flashes rapidly when battery voltage is too low, prompting a recharge.
  • Low Voltage Protection: The flashlight automatically steps down brightness when voltage drops below 3.0V and turns off completely if the voltage becomes critically low.
  • Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR): Automatically steps down and steps up brightness to prevent overheating as the temperature rises.
  • Simple UI Functions:
    • 1C: On / off.
    • 1H: Ramp up (or down, if released within 1 second).
    • 2H (light on): Ramp down.
    • 2H (light off): Momentary high mode.
    • 2C: Toggle to/from highest safe level.
    • 3C: Toggle between SMOOTH RAMPING and STEPPED RAMPING (while light is on).
    • 4C: Lockout mode.
    • 3C (light off): Battery check mode (displays voltage once, then turns off).
    • 4C (light off): Lockout mode.
    • 10H (light off): Switch to Advanced UI.
    • 15C or more (light off): Version check.
  • Lockout Mode (Simple UI) Functions:
    • 1H: Momentary moon.
    • 2H: Momentary low.
    • 4C: Unlock and turn on.
    • 4H: Unlock and turn on at low level.
    • 5C: Unlock and turn on at high level.
  • Switching UI: From Simple UI (light off), 10H goes to Advanced UI. From Advanced UI (light off), 10C goes to Simple UI, and 10H configures Simple UI.
  • Factory Reset: To perform a factory reset or auto-calibrate the temperature sensor: loosen the body tube, hold the button, tighten the body tube, and continue holding for about 4 seconds. The light will flicker, get brighter, then briefly burst to full power. Hold until full power for a reset, or release early to abort.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Installation: Ensure the positive end of the battery is facing the head. Remove insulating plates from battery poles before first use. Fully charge the 16340 battery before initial use.
  • Preventing Accidental Activation/Drain: Unscrew the head half a turn during transport or storage to prevent accidental activation and battery drain in standby.
  • Cleaning: Regularly clean battery contacts with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol to prevent performance issues like flicker or intermittent operation.
  • Lubrication: Every 6 months, wipe threads with a clean cloth and apply a thin layer of silicone grease.
  • O-ring Replacement: Replace worn-out o-rings with approved spares to maintain waterproofness.
  • Battery Care: Remove the battery if the flashlight will not be used for an extended period. Use high-quality brand batteries; damage from battery leakage voids the warranty.
  • Troubleshooting: If the flashlight does not turn on upon first use, ensure the insulation sticker has been removed from the battery. If problems persist after checking battery and contacts, refer to the warranty policy.
  • Warranty: Sofirn provides replacement within the warranty period for defective products. Disassembling the sealed head can damage the flashlight and voids the warranty.

Safety Instructions:

  • Do not point the flashlight directly at people, animals, or moving vehicles, as it can cause retinal damage.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Strobe mode may cause seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy.
  • Operating the SC21 Pro in high-powered modes for extended periods will cause the flashlight to heat up, which is normal.
  • Pay close attention to proper battery installation.
  • Avoid hitting or dropping the flashlight.
