Why does my Sony Monitor picture flicker?
    • E
      Elizabeth CookAug 19, 2025
If your Sony Monitor picture flickers, bounces, oscillates, or is scrambled, try to isolate and eliminate any potential sources of electric or magnetic fields such as other monitors, laser printers, electric fans, fluorescent lighting, or televisions. You can also try moving the monitor away from power lines or placing a magnetic shield near it. Plugging the monitor into a different AC outlet on a different circuit might also help. As a last resort, try turning the monitor 90° to the left or right.

If no picture appears on your Sony Monitor screen, first check that the power cord is properly connected and that the power switch is in the 'on' position. Also, verify that the video signal cable is correctly connected and all plugs are firmly seated. If you see a 'NO INPUT SIGNAL' message or the power indicator is orange or alternating, this could be the issue. If you see a 'MONITOR IS IN POWER SAVE MODE' message, ensure your computer isn't in power saving mode by pressing any key. Lastly, make sure the graphic board is completely seated in the proper bus slot.
