This document describes the Soundcore Sleep A20 earbuds, a device designed to enhance sleep and provide a personalized audio experience.

Function Description

The Soundcore Sleep A20 earbuds are designed for sleep enhancement, offering features like customizable controls, soothing sounds, sleep management, and firmware updates via the Soundcore app. They can be used in two primary modes: Bluetooth Mode for general audio playback and Sleep Mode for sleep-specific functions like noise masking and sleep monitoring. The earbuds are designed to be comfortable for extended wear, including during sleep, and come with different sizes of ear tips and ear wings to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.

A key feature is the ability to transfer up to four "Sleep Sounds" tracks into the earbuds from the Soundcore app. Users can mix up to three white noise sounds and fine-tune them for their ideal listening ambiance before uploading. Once transferred, these audio mixes cannot be modified.

The earbuds also offer sleep monitoring capabilities, providing detailed reports on sleep data, including sleep stage, sleep positions, and the frequency of rolling over. This data helps users understand and improve their sleep patterns.

The device can automatically switch from Bluetooth Mode to Sleep Mode when the user falls asleep, playing selected audio (e.g., sleeping sounds or masking sounds). Playback settings can be customized for duration.

Maximum Volume Limit: The earbuds provide a maximum volume limit of 65dB, which is continuously changeable with the external environment's volume level (in accordance with the World Health Organization's recommendations for hearing protection).
Microphone: The microphone is designed to monitor ambient noise levels, detect changes in environmental volume, and record content (though not in a recognizable form).
ANC Feature: Sleep A20 does not have an active noise cancellation (ANC) feature. Its noise blocking is achieved through sealed ear tips.

Usage Features

App Integration: The Soundcore app (available on Google Play and the App Store) is essential for customizing controls, listening to soothing sounds, managing sleep, updating firmware, and exploring more features.
Wearing: Users should choose the ear tips and ear wings that best fit their ears. The earbuds come with M-sized ear tips and ear wings pre-installed. Sealed Eartips are for noise blocking, while Breathable Eartips allow for more airflow. For optimal noise blocking, earbuds should be inserted into ear canals and gently turned until ear wings are wedged against ear ridges.
Charging: The earbuds are charged by placing them in the charging case and closing the lid. The charging case connects to a power supply via a USB-C charging cable. It is recommended to use a 5V charger (not included). Both earbuds and the charging case should be fully charged before the first use. LED indicators on the charging case show the battery level.
Powering On & Pairing: After removing insulation stickers, return earbuds to the charging case, then activate Bluetooth pairing by closing and reopening the case lid. The earbuds will automatically power on and enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Users select "soundcore Sleep A20" from their device's Bluetooth list. For pairing with another device, place earbuds in the open charging case and press and hold the button on the case for 3 seconds.
Controls (Dual Earbuds):
- Switch listening modes (Bluetooth Mode / Sleep Mode): Tap twice firmly (L).
- Play / Pause: Tap twice firmly (R).
- Volume up: Tap three times firmly (R).
- Volume down: Tap three times firmly (L).
Controls (Single Earbud):
- Switch listening modes (Bluetooth Mode / Sleep Mode): Tap twice firmly.
- Play / Pause: Tap three times firmly.
- Volume up/down: Not available.
Powering Off: Place the earbuds in the charging case, align contactors, and close the lid. Earbuds will automatically power off after 10 minutes if not connected when taken out of the case. This duration can be set in the Soundcore app.
Reset: If pairing issues occur, delete pairing history from the Bluetooth device. Place earbuds in the open charging case, then press and hold the button on the charging case for 10 seconds until LED indicators rapidly flash white 3 times.
Firmware Update: The Soundcore app will notify users of new firmware versions. Earbuds must be in the charging case with the lid open during updates, and charging should be maintained.
Sleep Monitoring: The earbuds can monitor sleep data (sleep stage, positions, rolling frequency) to provide a detailed report.
Smart Switch: The device can automatically switch from Bluetooth Mode to Sleep Mode when the user falls asleep, playing selected audio (e.g., sleeping sounds or masking sounds).
Playback Settings: Users can customize the duration of playback.
Microphone Functionality: The microphone is used to monitor ambient noise levels and record content (not in a recognizable form), but not for phone calls. Phone call function is not supported; users must use their mobile phone to answer calls.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: Dust, earwax, or other debris can accumulate. To maintain optimal sound quality, regularly clean the earbuds using a cotton swab slightly moistened with rubbing alcohol to gently wipe the metal mesh filter under the rubber ear tips.
