This document describes the Spedal Webcam, covering its functions, technical specifications, usage features, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Spedal Webcam is designed for video communication and recording across various operating systems, including Mac OS, Windows, Chrome OS, and Android. It supports popular video conferencing applications such as FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangouts, Facebook Messenger, QQ, Skype for Business, Cisco (WebEX), Lifesize, Intel, BlueJeans, Vidyo, and ZOOM. The webcam features a built-in microphone for audio input and a ring light for illumination. It can be used for video calls, video recording, and taking photos.

Important Technical Specifications

USB Cable Length: 1.6 meters. An extension cable (TYPE A USB 2.0 HUB) can be used, but the total length should not exceed 5 meters.
Video Resolution: Supports up to 1080P HD for video calls and recording, though actual resolution may be limited to 720P or 640P due to network bandwidth, application version, or software settings.
Audio Quality (Windows): For microphone input, "CD quality" (2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz) or above is recommended. For speaker output, sound quality higher than 24 bits and 192000 Hz is preferred.

Installation and Setup:

Windows: The camera is installed automatically upon connection. Drivers are reloaded if the camera is reconnected.
Mac OS: The camera is installed automatically upon connection.
Software Download: Users need to download appropriate video software (e.g., FaceTime, Skype) and register an account. For multi-party conferencing, paid memberships for specific applications may be required.

Camera Placement:

The webcam can be fixed on a computer screen or laid flat on a table. It has screw holes at the bottom for use with a camera support.
Maintain a distance of 0.5m to 1m between the lens and the object for optimal performance.

Focus Adjustment (Autofocus):

To achieve maximum clarity, aim the lens at a reference object and wave your hand in front of the camera.
In backlit environments, with a lot of stray light, or against a single-color background, autofocus performance may be weaker. Adjusting the camera position or gently shaking it can help.

Three-level Beauty Touch-light Adjustment:

Five-level Digital Focal Length:

Audio Settings (Windows):

Microphone Input:
- Right-click the sound icon on the taskbar and select "Open Sound Settings."

- Check "Preview" under "Options" to preview video.
- Photos and videos are saved in "Capturevideo" and "Capturephoto" folders.
- To set data stream format: In "Options" > "Video Capture Pin...", adjust "Output Size" and click "OK."
- To set frame rate: In "Capture" > "Set Frame Rate...", check "Use Frame Rate," type "30" f/sec, and click "OK."
- To set time limit: In "Capture" > "Set Time Limit...", check "Use Time Limit," type duration, and click "OK."
- To record audio with video: In "Capture," check "Capture Audio."
- To start/stop recording: In "Capture," check/uncheck "Start Capture" or "Stop Capture."

Video Recording (Mac OS X):

Photo Booth:
- Open Photo Booth.
- Click the "Camera" menu and select "USB Live Camera" as the default camera.
FaceTime:
- Open FaceTime.
- Click the "Video" menu and select "USB Live Camera" as the default camera.
- Select "USB Live Camera Audio" as the default microphone.

Background Changing and Game Live Streaming:

Requires support from the game platform (e.g., Xsplit). Registering as a VIP paid member may be necessary.
For Windows 7 and above, Chromacam software can be used to set the webcam as a virtual video device, change video backgrounds, and upgrade to Chromacam PRO for advanced features.

Troubleshooting Common Issues:

Camera Not Detected (Windows): Uninstall "USB Live Camera Audio" from Device Manager, remove the camera, restart the computer, then reconnect the camera to a different USB port (preferably not a front port for desktops).
Camera Not Detected (Mac): Remove the camera, restart the computer, reconnect, and perform a PRAM/NVRAM reset (Command+Option+P+R during startup). Ensure Mac OS is updated.
No Sound/Interrupted Sound (Windows Microphone):
- If "Stereo Mixing" is on or set as default, disable the built-in sound card's "MIC IN" port.

- Ensure the video communication software automatically switches between H.264, MJPEG, and other formats.

Local Preview Image White/Black (Windows):

- Adjust brightness, contrast, gamma, and color settings in the video properties.
- Ensure the lighting environment is not monochromatic, too strong, or too dark.
Image Geometrically Distorted/Deformed (Windows): Ensure the video software is set to a special effect mode.
Image Has Water Ripples (Windows): Change the voltage frequency of the camera to be consistent with the local voltage frequency (50HZ or 60HZ).
1080P HD Camera Only Reaches 720P/640P:
- Check network bandwidth and ensure it supports 1080P HD transmission.
- Verify the video communication application version supports HD 1080P.
- Adjust image quality settings in the communication software to 720P or 640P.
Blurred Image During Video Call:
- Check network bandwidth and ensure bandwidth saving mode is not selected.
- Adjust focus manually by rotating the lens or automatically by waving a hand in front of the lens.
- Ensure the video communication application supports H.264 compression and HD video calls.
Abnormal Images (Mac): Similar setting errors as Windows systems.
Webpage Cannot Access Camera (Browsers):
- Try a different browser.
- Close all other applications that might be using the webcam.

Maintenance Features

Secure Placement: Ensure the camera and its support are firmly fixed to prevent falling.
Environmental Protection: Keep the camera away from liquids, high temperatures, and strong magnetic fields.
