7.5 External wiring
• Lead the connection lines through the cable glands into the enclosure in accordance
with the operating instructions.
• The cable diameter must be identical to the nominal diameter of the cable gland.
• Tighten the hexagon nuts of the cable gland in such a way that the tightness of
the enclosure and the strain relief protection at the connection points are
guaranteed.
• The tightening torques are given in the operating instructions of the components.
• Lay the connecting lines in such a way that the permissible bending radii for the
respective conductor cross section do not fall below the minimum permissible values.
• Install the connection lines in such way that mechanical damage to the conductor
insulation during installation caused by sharp-edged or moving metal parts
is prevented.
Connection terminals
Tighten the screws of the connection terminals in accordance with the specified
tightening torque. For more information, see the corresponding manufacturer's
specifications.
Electrical connection
• Observe the specifications for the terminals.
• Remove loose metal chips, dirt and traces of moisture from the enclosure.
• Carefully close the enclosure with a cover after completing the work. To do so,
tighten all mounting screws with the specified tightening torque.
• Run insulation test according to EN 61439-1.
DANGER
Explosion hazard due to insufficient protective measures!
Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries.
• Select suitable cables to ensure that the maximum permissible
conductor temperatures are not exceeded.
• When using core end sleeves, attach them using a suitable tool.
• Observe the insulating capacity and separation distances between in-
trinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe circuits according to
EN 60079-14, section 12.
• Use only separately tested cable entries and stopping plugs with EC
Type Examination Certificate.
• The conductor insulation must reach to the terminal.
• Do not damage the conductor (e.g. nicking) when stripping it.
• Always connect the protective conductor.
