Putting the printer online or offline
Youcansend<XOFF>and<XON>controlcodes(describedin Chapter2
under“SerialInterface”)toputyourprinterofflineandthenonlineagain.If
youareusingaparallelinterface,anydatayourcomputersendsafteryouput
theprinterofflinewillnotbeprinted.
To puttheprinterofflinesendthiscontrolcode:

To-puttheprinterbackonline,eitherpress ONLINEon the frontpanelor
sendthiscommand:

(sometimesshownas <DC1>)
If theprinteris alreadyonlinewhenyousend the<XON>command,the
printerwillcancelanyincompletelineof print.
Reset
TheEX-800emulationresetcommandreturnstheprintertoitsdefaultinitial
parameters.Whenyousendthiscommandattheendofapnntjobtheprinter
willresetitsparametersonlyafterpreviouscommandshavefinished.You
should,however,taketheprecautionofputtinga formfeedbeforethereset,
to makesureyouloseno printdata.
To resettheStarLaserPrinter8, sendthiscommand:
