Why is there no sound from my Steinberg UR816C?

  If you're not getting any sound with your Steinberg Accessories, make sure a proper USB cable (the one included) is being used. Check the volume levels of the [OUTPUT] and [PHONES] knobs on the device. Verify that the microphones and monitor speakers are correctly connected. Ensure the audio driver settings are properly configured in your DAW software. Also, check that the [ASIO Driver] setting is correctly set in Cubase (Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO on Windows, or Steinberg UR816C/Steinberg UR816C (High Precision) on Mac). Finally, ensure the device was powered on before starting the DAW software.

If you are using SuperSpeed (USB 3.1 Gen1) mode, try switching to High-Speed (USB 2.0) mode in the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver Control Panel. Reduce the number of audio tracks if you are recording or playing long sections of audio. Ensure microphones with XLR plugs are properly connected; phone plugs may result in insufficient volume. Disable 'Enable Loopback' when not using the Loopback function. If you see the error message 'Audio Format is Unmixable' on Mac, click 'Revert to Mixable'.
