● Check the radiator fins are not obstructed/dirty.
● Check the radiator is not damaged or leaking coolant.
● Check the temperature switch operation - Ref. wiring
diagram - replace if necessary. DO NOT USE THE
GENERATOR WITHOUT A TEMPERATURE SWITCH FITTED.
● Check associated fuel system - fuel level, fuel filters etc. -
poor engine performance can cause low oil pressure.
Fault occurs after
the engine has fired
● Check associated wiring from the temperature switch to
the DSE 3110 - Ref. wiring diagram.
● Check the generator canopy has no obstructions over any
vented areas - Also see Operating Environment in this
handbook.
If the temperature gauge shows a high temperature (> 100⁰C) and the generator is
shutting down with all the above checked, then the issue could be an engine
component e.g. thermostat, water pump etc. - consult an engine specialist.
● Oil change and oil filter clean recommended.
When the engine is running you should expect the regulated DC voltage measured on
the battery to between 13.8 and 14.8V DC
● Check oil level and top-up to the correct level if necessary.
● Check wiring from the oil pressure switch to the DSE 3110 -
Ref. wiring diagram
A High Engine Temperature shutdown could be for two main reasons, either the
engine has overheated or the temperature switch or wiring is faulty.
● Check the oil pressure switch operation - Switch normally
closed when engine is at rest and open when engine running
- Remove, clean or replace if necessary.
● Check the level of the water and antifreeze level - fill with
a 50/50 mix as indicated by the sticker next to the
inspection flap. CAUTION HOT STEAM CAN BURN!
● Check the condition and tension of the fan belt - tighten or
replace if necessary.
Fault occurs after
the engine has fired
