4.7.2 Cooling
Cooling is only possible in conjunction with a buffer cylinder or
low loss header. Parameter
COOLING MODE must be set to ON.
Refer to your authorised contractor for the required adjustments.
Cooling is enabled when the appliance is in summer mode and the
outside temperature exceeds the set room temperature for heating
(parameter
ROOM TEMPERATURE DAY in menu ROOM TEM-
PERATURES/ HEATING HC1 or HEATING HC2) for 2 hours by 3 K.
If the room temperature is then higher by the value set under
parameter room temp. hysteresis than the set room temperature
for cooling (parameter
ROOM TEMPERATURE DAY in menu
ROOM TEMPERATURES / COOLING HC1 or COOLING HC2), then the
system prepares for cooling. The display shows a snowflake. The
circulation pump starts, the 3-way diverter valve changes over to
the heating circuit and the "cooling" output is activated in order
to, for example, open the thermostatic valves in the rooms to be
cooled.
By selecting a room temperature you can influence when the ap-
pliances starts its cooling operation.
Cooling mode with FESComfort
The digital remote control FESComfort is equipped with a temper-
ature sensor as well as a humidity sensor that is used to monitor
the dew point in area heating systems (such as underfloor heating
systems, wall area heating systems, chilled ceilings).
Active cooling
When parameter
COOLING MODE is active, the compressor
switches the defrost valve on if the heating circuit temperature
exceeds the selected set heating circuit temperature.
Cooling and DHW heating
Cooling mode is interrupted as soon as a DHW demand is issued,
and DHW heating commences.
Cooling and solar (LWZSOL)
Under parameter
SOLAR qualified contractors can use parameter
PRIORITY SOLAR to select the priority for cooling operation if a
solar thermal system is connected. Possible settings are "Priority
solar", "Priority cooling" and the time-controlled setting via "Prior-
ity cooling time". This programs the period for cooling. If "Priority
solar" has been selected, cooling will not be enabled for as long
a the solar starting conditions are met and the maximum system
temperatures have not been reached. With "Priority cooling", the
functions "Solar overload" and "Collector protection" are disabled.
The solar start conditions are checked as soon as cooling ends.
f Enable cooling mode for the required heating circuits by set-
ting parameter
COOLING MODE (OFF/ON).
4.7.3 Ventilation
Here, you can set the parameters for the centralised ventilation of
your home. The menu consists of four subparameters. As a user
however, you can only alter the
PARAMETER area. Items VEN-
TILATION
, OVEN / FIREPLACE, AIR / AIR HE and SERVICE
are reserved for qualified contractors.
In the submenu
PARAMETER [MENU/VENTILATION] you can set
the fan stages for day, setback, standby and manual modes, as
well as the party program. The fans can run in three different
stages. Therefore the adjustable values available for each are
0(off), 1, 2, or 3.
Normally, the appliance controls when and for how long to venti-
late. However, via quick access
VENTILATION STAGES you can
run ventilation instantly.

SETTINGS
VENTILATIONPARAMETER
TIME / DATE
Under Unsched.vent time Stage 1 [MENU/VENTILATION] deter-
mine for how many minutes the fan should run, if you set the
appliance to stage 1 via parameter
VENTILATION STAGES. You
can set values between 0 and 1000 minutes in five-minute steps.
Specify the ventilation times for stages 0, 2 and 3 accordingly.
The selected ventilation stage will not be enabled for 20seconds.
Quick ventilation with external pushbutton
With an external pushbutton that can be installed on site, you
can set ventilation immediately to stage3. Ventilation runs with
stage 3 and will only switch off after the time set under parameter
Unsched. vent time. Stage 3.
Humidity protection (stage 0)
The control unit includes a humidity protection ventilation func-
tion. This is provided to protect against humidity damage, if ven-
tilation is not required. This may be the case, for example, in the
case of prolonged absence due to holidays spent away from home.
For this, in menu VENTILATION/PARAMETER set the Humidity pro-
tection parameter to
ON. The humidity protection ventilation is
activated after a pause of 24 hours. Ventilation is inactive prior to
the expiry of the 24 hour period.
Ventilation starts if the relative humidity inside the room exceeds
a limit whilst ventilation is switched off (stage 0). Ventilation is
switched off again is the limit is undershot by more than the se-
lected hysteresis. The limit is dependent on the outside temper-
ature.
f Please consult your qualified contractor.
