: Inspect the ball bearing (1) and 
replace if necessary.
: Heat the gearbox housing (2) to 
about 120°C (250°F) and then 
use press arbor 4119 893 7200 
to remove the bal bearing (1).
– Inspect and clean the gearbox 
housing and cover and remove 
any gasket residue.
– If the gearbox housing is 
replaced, examine the guide 
sleeve and screw plug of the old 
gearbox housing and replace if 
necessary.
– Inspect and clean the sealing 
face on the clutch housing and 
remove any gasket residue, 
Always replace components with 
damaged sealing faces or housings.
– Check and replenish gear 
lubricant in clutch housing – 
always replace dirty gear 
lubricant.

Installing
Fit the ball bearing quickly because 
it absorbs heat and begins to 
expand.
: Heat the gearbox cover (1) to 
about 120°C (250°F), then use 
press sleeve 1115 893 4600 to 
install ball bearing (2) as far as 
stop.
Do not heat the gearbox cover with 
the oil seal installed – this can 
damage the oil seal.
– Lubricate sealing lips of new oil 
seal with grease, b 13
: Position the oil seal (1) with its 
open side facing the inside of the 
gearbox cover (2). 
: Press home the oil seal (1) and 
then the ball bearing (3) with 
press arbor 1117 893 7200 as far 
as stop.
