4.1 General
These safety regulations must
be observed when working with
the machine.
Read the entire instruction
manual before using the
machine for the first time. Keep
the instruction manual in a safe
place for future reference.
Also carefully read the entire instruction
manual for the STIHL gardening power
tool, in particular the section "For your
safety", prior to initial operation of the
engine.
The engine must only be started and
stopped as described in the instruction
manual for the STIHL gardening power
tool.
Allow the engine to run at minimum speed
for 15-20 seconds before stopping it.
Do not use starting fluids (e.g. start-up
spray) or fuel additives.
Never operate the engine with the spark
plug removed.
Only maintenance operations described in
this instruction manual may be carried out
on the engine. Have all other work
performed by a specialist dealer. STIHL
recommends STIHL specialist dealers.
Do not clean the engine using hose water
– never use high pressure cleaners.
Remove deposits (e.g. grass, straw,
leaves) from air vents, cooling ribs,
manifold and muffler after each use.
