What to do if my Stihl Brush Cutter does not start?
- CCraig FosterAug 21, 2025
If your Stihl Brush Cutter doesn't start, several factors could be the cause. First, the battery's charge might be too low; in this case, fully recharge the battery. The battery could also be too warm or too cold; remove it and allow it to cool down or warm up. There may be no electrical contact between the brushcutter and battery; remove the battery and clean the electrical contacts in the battery compartment, then reinsert the battery. The brushcutter or battery could be damp; allow them to dry. If the trimmer is too hot, remove the battery and allow the trimmer to cool down. If 3 LEDs continue to flash red, do not use your brushcutter and contact your STIHL dealer for assistance. If 4 LEDs continue to flash red, do not use the battery and contact your STIHL dealer for assistance.
