Fault:
Engine does not start
Possible cause:
Throttle lever in Stop position
No fuel in tank; fuel line blocked
Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank
Spark plug socket detached from spark
plug; ignition lead not properly fastened
to socket
Spark plug dirty or damaged; incorrect
electrode gap
Dirty air filter
Engine is flooded due to several
starting attempts.
Remedy:
Set throttle lever to Start position
(Ö 8.1)
Fill fuel tank (Ö 7.15);
Clean fuel lines (#)
Use fresh, good quality fuel, unleaded
petrol (Ö 7.15);
clean carburettor (#)
Connect spark plug socket ();
check connection between ignition lead
and socket (#)
Clean/replace spark plug (), (#);
Adjust electrode gap (#)
Clean/replace air filter (#)
Remove spark plug and dry, set throttle
lever to Stop position and pull recoil
starter rope repeatedly with the spark
plug removed ()
Fault:
Starting problems or deteriorating engine
power
Possible cause:
Water in fuel tank and carburettor;
carburettor blocked
Contaminated fuel tank
Dirty air filter
Dirty spark plug
Remedy:
Empty fuel tank, clean fuel line and
carburettor (#)

Fault:
Engine overheating

Dirty cooling ribs
Oil level in engine too low
Surface of engine covered with earth
Remedy:

Engine running roughly

Dirty air filter
Remedy:

Worn hoes
