29. Other Observations; Final Running

 This is where any other observations about the unit not

specifically covered by one of the numbered items on the

STIHL Engine Check can be recorded

 Once repairs have

been made the last

part of the STIHL

Engine Check

document can be used

as a quality control

check to be sure the

engine starts easily

and is running to

specification

Final Check: Roll Out Test

 With the engine warmed

up and idling, and the

chain brake engaged on

a saw, slowly roll the

engine over so one side

faces the ground

 Now roll it back upright,

then roll the other side

towards the ground

 Idle RPM should not

change more than 200-

300 RPM

 If the idle changes the

engine may have an air

leak or other fault
