When the engine begins to fire:
N Move the choke lever (2) away from
the "Choke" position and continue
cranking.
As soon as the engine runs
N Release the decompression
valve (6).
N Blip the throttle trigger – the lock
button (5) will move to the normal
run position and the engine will
return to idling speed.
N Observe safety precautions.
N Always check operation of chain
lubrication before starting work.
Switch off the engine.
N Move the stop switch to "STOP".
Other hints on starting
At very low outside temperatures
When the engine begins to fire:
N Move the choke lever to the center
position (starting throttle) and allow
engine to warm up for a brief period.
N Move the choke lever away from the
"Choke" position.
N Blip the throttle trigger to disengage
the starting throttle position. The
lock button moves to the normal run
position and the engine settles
down to idling speed.
If the engine does not start
If you did not move the choke lever away
from the "Choke" position quickly
enough after the engine began to fire,
the combustion chamber is flooded.
N Move the stop switch to "STOP".
N Pull off the spark plug boot.
N Unscrew and dry off the spark plug.
N Open the throttle wide.
N Crank the engine several times with
the starter to clear the combustion
chamber.
N Refit the spark plug and connect the
spark plug boot.
N Move the stop switch to "STOP".
N Move the choke lever away from the
"Choke" position – even if the
engine is cold.
N Set the throttle trigger to the starting
throttle position.
N Now start the engine.
If fuel tank has been run completely dry
and then refueled
N Pull the starter rope several times
until the fuel system is primed.
