4.1 Muffler / Spark Arresting
Screen
Always check and, if necessary,
repair the fuel system, carburetor,
air filter and ignition system before
looking for faults on the engine.

– Remove the shroud, b 4.4
: Take out the screws (arrows).
: Remove the muffler (1).
: Remove the gasket (1).

Installing
: Inspect and clean the sealing
faces (arrows), b 13
– Insert the screws through the
upper holes in the muffler.
: Push the gasket (1) over the
screws – the gasket is held in
position.
– Carefully place the muffler (1) in
position.
: Check the position of the gasket
and fit the screws (2).

– Fit the screws (2)
– do not tighten down yet.
: Fit the screw (1).
– Tighten down screws (1) and (2)
firmly.
Spark arresting screen
(country-specific option)
: Take out the screws (1) and
remove the exhaust pipe (2).
