2.1 INTRODUCTION
This manual provides information and recommen-
dations for installing, operating and servicing the
ES---8IntegralCompressor/AirDryer. Theunitisde-
signed and manufactured to the highest quality
standards. Units have been fully tested and in-
spected by the manufacturer before s hipment from
the factory.
The information, specifications and illustrations in
thismanualareinaccordancewithinformationinef-
fectatthetimeofprinting.Themanufacturerre-
servestherighttochangedesignandspecifications
without notice and without incurring obligations.
Itisextremelyimportanttoanalyzecompletelyevery
system and understand the intended function of
each component before attempting to determine
the cause of a malfunction or failure.
The refrigerant (R---22) and a ir circuit can be easily
follow ed by referring to Figure 2 --- 2.
A refrigerant suctionpressure gauge is providedas
standard equipment for analyzing the system op-
eration and performance.
Anyquestionorproblemnotcoveredhereincan be
directed to the nearest Sullair representative. Al-
ways specify the model and serial number of the
compressor/dryeronallcorrespondenceregarding
service a nd parts.
2.2 IDENTIFICATION OF COMPONENTS
Refer t o Figure 2 --- 1. Pa rts can be ordered from t he
nearestSullairrepresentative.Ifforanyreasonparts
cannot be obtained in this manner, contact the fac-
tory. Authorization and shipping instructions must
be obtained from the factory before returning the
parts to thefactory. The manufacturerwillnot bere-
sponsible for parts returned without properauthori-
zation or identification.
The ES---8 Integral Compressor/Air Dryer is de-
signed for the purpose of removing moisture from
compressed airby cooling to a temperature of35_F
to 39_F(2_Cto4_C).
