4.7 ELECTRICAL PREPARATION
Interior electrical wiring is performed at the factory.
Requiredcustomerwiringis minimal,but shouldbe
done by a qualified electrician in compliance with
OSHA, National Electrical Code, and/or any other
applicable State, F ederal and local electrical codes
concerning isolation sw itches, fused disconnects,
etc. Sullair provides a wiring diagram for use by the
installer.
Refer to wiring diagrams in Section 11.
NOTE
Customer must provide electrical supply power
disconnect within sight of machine.
The wiring of all functional electrical components
has been designed and manufactured in accor -
dance with the following electricalcodes/practices:

As stated in Section 1,Safety, usea qualifiedelectri-
cianforallelectricalwiring. Connectthe powersup-
plylinestothe terminalsindicatedonthe wiringdia-
gram corresponding to your unit. All units are sup-
plied with controlcircuit protection anda “red”pow-
er indicating light.
Connect ground wire to provided ground lug.
Thedryer compressorandfanaresinglephaseand
willturnonlyinthecorrectdirection(fanmustpullair
across the condenser).
NOTE
Grounding of the frame is required.
A few electrical checks should be made to help as-
sure that the first start---up will be trouble---free.

Lethal shock hazard inside. Disconnect all power
at source before opening or servicing.
1. Check incoming voltage. B e sure t hat compres-
sor is wired for the correct incoming voltage.
2. Check starter for correct size, proper overload
relay, and heaters.
3. Check all electrical connections for tightness.
4. “DRYRUN”the electricalcontrolsbydisconnect-
ingthe three(3)motorleadsfromthe starter.Pull
out the EMERGENCY STOP button on the con-
trol panel.
5. Reconnect the motor leadsand jog the motor for
a directionof rotationcheck as explained inSec-
t ion 4. 6.
NOTE
Wiring diagram for standa rd compressors is sup-
pliedontheinsidecoveroftheControl Center.Op-
tional compressor wir ing diagrams will vary.
