3. INSPECTION PRIOR TO USE
A. Pre-donning checks
Before donning the respirator always perform the following checks.
1) Check that the respirator is the correct size.
2) Ensure that the respirator is clean and dry.
3) Check the respirator, valves and harness for wear, cuts, cracks, missing parts, and other defects.
4) Check that the appropriate chemical cartridge, filter or combination is installed properly.
4. DONNING/ USE/ DOFFING INSTRUCTIONS
A. Donning
1) Remove any hood, glasses or ear protection from head.
2) Holding the respirator in one hand, grab the locking buckle and pull on the head strap until the pad or
cradle is tight against the respirator.
3) Take out any twists or tangles.
4) Holding the strap buckle, pull the strap over your head and put it around your neck.
5) Lettherespirator hang on your chest.
6) Grab the pad or cradle with one hand and the filter or cartridge with the other.
7) Hold the respirator against your face.
8) Pull the pad or cradle over your head and place it on the crown of the head.
9) Perform a fit check.
B. Adjusting the Harness
1) Reach behind your neck and grab the free end of the harness strap.
2) Pull the free end away from the neck until buckle pops open.
NOTE
If needed, grasp the opposite side of the strap near the buckle to create more leverage.
3) Pull on the free end of the strap until the respirator seats comfortably on your face.
4) Use your thumb and forefinger to squeeze the buckle shut.
5) Wiggletherespiratoruntilitseatscomfortably.
6) Perform a fit check.
