Requirements for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
TheseappliancesareapprovedforinstallationintheUSstateofMas-
sachusettsifthefollowingadditionalrequirementsaremet:
• Un-ventedRoomHeatersshallbeinstalledinaccordancewith527
CMR30.
• Installationandrepairmustbedonebyaplumberorgastterlicensed
intheCommonwealthofMassachusetts.
• Theexiblegaslineconnectorusedshallnotexceed36inches(92
centimeters) in length.
• The individual manual shut-off must be a T-handle type valve.
• UnventedappliancesmayNOTbeinstalledinbedroomsorbathrooms.
• A working smoke detector must be installed in the area where vent-
free appliances are installed.

shallprovidetoeachpurchaseracopyof527CMR30uponsaleoftheunit.
