Supermicro Security Erase Conguration
This section allows the user to congure the Supermicro-proprietary Security Erase settings.
When this section is selected, the features below will display. Please note that the order of
the following information may differ based on the storage devices being detected.
HDD Name: This feature displays the name of the HDD/SATA drive that is detected by
the BIOS.
HDD Serial Number: This feature displays the serial number of the HDD/SATA device that
is detected by the BIOS.
Security Erase Mode: This feature displays the Security Erase mode of the HDD/SATA
devices detected by the BIOS.
Estimated Time: This feature displays the estimate time needed to perform the selected
Security Erase features.
HDD Pwd Status: This feature indicates if a password has been set as an HDD/SATA ad-
ministrator password which will allow you to congure Supermicro Security Erase settings
on the HDD (SATA) device by using this SATA administrator password.
Security Function
Select Set Password to set an HDD/SATA password which will allow the user to congure
the security settings of HDD/SATA devices. Select Security Erase - Password to prompt the
user to enter a password in order to erase the contents previously stored in the HDD/SATA
devices. Select Security Erase - Without Password to allow the user to erase the contents
of HDD/SATA devices without using a password. The options are Disable, Set Password,
Security Erase - Password, and Security Erase - Without Password.
Password
Use this feature to set the SATA user password which will allow the user to congure the
Supermicro Security Erase settings by using the SATA user password.
New Password
Use this feature to set a new password to enhance system security.
HDD Security Conguration (Available when storage devices are
detected)
P1: (Storage Device Name)
This section is available when the storage device is detected by the BIOS. Select this device.
