Safety Precautions
!
DANGER
The safety messages that follow have DANGER level hazards.
These safety messages describe hazardous situations which, if not avoided,
will result in death or serious injury.
Do not permit anyone to launch, operate or retrieve your boat without proper
training.
Read and understand this operator’s manual and all manufacturer-supplied
information before you operate or service your boat to ensure that you follow
safe operating practices and maintenance procedures.
Safety signs and decals are additional reminders for safe operating and
maintenance techniques.
See your authorized boat dealer for additional training.
Exhaust Hazard
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless and odorless gas
produced by all engines, fuel-burning appliances, and any
material that contains carbon and is burned.
Even with the best boat design and construction, plus the utmost care in
inspection, operation and maintenance, hazardous levels of CO may still be
present in accommodation areas under certain conditions. To reduce CO
accumulation, always provide adequate ventilation in the boat interior by
opening the deck hatches, windows or canvas.
Do not confuse carbon monoxide poisoning with seasickness, intoxication or
heat stress. If someone complains of irritated eyes, headache, nausea,
weakness, dizziness or drowsiness, or you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning,
immediately move the person to fresh air, investigate the cause and take
corrective action. Seek medical attention if necessary.
Explosion Hazard
While the engine is running or the battery is charging,
hydrogen gas is being produced and can be easily ignited.
Keep the area around the battery well-ventilated and keep
sparks, open flames and any other form of ignition out of the
area.
