7. Smear a little engine oil around the rub-
ber gasket 6 of the new oil filter.
8. Screw the new filter by hand until the fil-
ter gasket contacts the mounting surface
(a small resistance will be felt).
NOTE: To tighten the oil filter properly, it is
important to accurately identify the position
at which the filter gasket first contacts the
mounting surface.
NOTICE
Failure to use an oil filter with the correct
design and thread specifications can
damage your motorcycle’s engine.
Be sure to use a genuine Suzuki oil filter
or an equivalent one designed for your
motorcycle.
