Oil filter wrench

4. Turn the oil filter 4 counter-
clockwise and remove it with a
Suzuki “cap type” oil filter
wrench or a “strap type” filter
wrench of the proper size.
5. Wipe off the mounting surface
5 on the engine where the
new filter will be seated with a
clean rag.
6. Smear a little engine oil
around the rubber gasket 6 of
the new oil filter.
7. Screw on the new filter by
hand until the filter gasket con-
tacts the mounting surface (a
small resistance will be felt).
NOTE: To tighten the oil filter
properly, it is important to accu-
rately identify the position at
which the filter gasket first con-
tacts the mounting surface.
NOTICE
Failure to use an oil filter with
the correct design and thread
specifications can damage
your motorcycle’s engine.
Be sure to use a genuine
Suzuki oil filter or an equiva-
lent one designed for your
motorcycle.
