Winter operation
You can use your Thetford Cassette Toilet as
normal in cold weather as long as the toilet is
situated in a heated location. If there is a risk of
freezing we advise that the toilet is drained by
following the instructions under ‘Storage’. For
environmental reasons the use of antifreeze,
such as that used in car radiators, is not
recommended.
Storage
It is important that you follow the instructions
below if you do not expect to use your
Thetford toilet for a long (winter) period.
• With the vehicle fresh water tank drained,
(See “Fresh Water System” on page 42 for
how to drain the tank), press the toilet flush
button until water stops flowing into the
bowl. Close the blade. Open the access
door on the outside of your motorhome
and empty the Waste Holding Tank at
an authorised waste dump. Follow the
instructions for cleaning and maintenance. To
allow the Waste Holding Tank to dry, do not
place the cap back on the emptying spout
of the tank.
