GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
The
TEAC
A-3440
is
a
4
channel,
multi-track
open
reel
tape
deck
which
operates
at
15
ips
and
7-1/2
ips.
The
A-3440
is
a
development
of
the
well
known
A3340S
and
shares
many
features
in
common.
Specifically,
the
transport
section
is
virtually
the
same
though
there
has
been
extensive
redesign
of
the
controls
and
the
electronics.
The
FUNCTION
SELECT
switches,
together
with
the
OUTPUT
SELECT
switches
provide
instant
selection
of
source,
sync
and
normal
off-tape
monitoring.
There
is
a
rear
panel
interface
for
the
RX-9
DBX
noise
reduction
unit,
the
use
of
which
will
greatly
improve
the
dynamic
range
and
signal
to
noise
performance
of
the
deck.
The
A-3440
is
ideally
suited
to
the
requirements
of
the
musician
and
multi-track
recordist.
If
any
of
the
procedures
in
this
manual
are
not
sufficiently
clear,
or
seem
too
difficult
to
undertake,
we
suggest
you
contact
your
nearest
TEAC
Factory
Service
Department
or
write
directly
to
the
TEAC
Corpo-
ration.
TEAC
addresses
are
printed
on
the
back
cover
of
this
manual.
