How to play a recorded tape
Follow the explanation as just given for
recording except:
The LINE control does not need to be
turned up and may be left at MIN (>), [0s
The REC MODE switch(es) should be
released
to
the
OFF
(1)
position.

The MONITOR switch(es) must be set in
the TAPE (1) position or you will not be
able to hear what's recorded on the tape. (0K)
The dbx I switch must be in the same posi-
tion used for recording.
Note: Due to the difference of the tape
reference
level,
when
playing
back
a
tape
recorded by the X-2000(M) on a conven-
tional deck, the output contro! of the
playback deck needs to be turned down,
while in playing back a tape recorded using
a conventional deck on the X-2000(M), the
OUTPUT control of the X-2000(M) needs
to be turned up high enough to obtain a
0 VU reading on the meter.
Controls
In this section, the controls and how they
are used are explained.
@ Reel Tables
These support either 7 inch reels or hub
adaptors when 10-1/2 inch reels are used
See page 50 for details of the “QUIK-LOK”
reel clampers and reel adaptors. Always
check that adaptors and clampers are
tightened securely before using the deck.
@ Electronic Tape Counter
Displays the distance the tape has moved
from a zero reference point in terms of
hours, minutes and seconds and can be reset
to 0.00.00 at any time by simply pressing
the CLEAR button. The three different
display functions provided are: (1) ordinary
counter (2) program counter in conjunction
with the PROGRAM switch (3) AUTO
SPACER contro! ® setting counter.
When used as an ordinary counter, it
permits calculation of how much time is
remaining on the tape. The tape counts
upwards, when the tape is running in the
forward direction, while it counts down-
wards when moving in the reverse direction.
The ordinary counter function is retained
even while the PROGRAM counter is in
use. For further information regarding
the PROGRAM counter and the AUTO
SPACER functions, see their respective
sections.

Remarque: Du fait de la différence du
niveau de référence de bande, lors de la
lecture d‘une bande enregistrée avec la X-
2000(M) sur une platine conventionnelle, la
commande de sortie de la platine de lecture
doit étre tournée vers le bas alors que, lors
de la lecture d‘une bande enregistrée avec
une platine conventionnelle sur la X-
2000(M), la commande OUTPUT de cette
derniére doit tre tournée vers le haut,
suffisamment pour obtenir un affichage
0 VU sur le compteur,
Commandes

Dans cette section, le nom et la fonction de
chaque commande sont expliqués,
@ Plateaux des bobines
lls supportent aussi bien les bobines de
18 cm que les adaptateurs de moyeu lorsque
des bobines de 26,5 cm sont utilisées. Veuil-
lez regarder page 50 pour plus de détails
concernant les roues de blocage “QUIK-
LOK" et les adaptateurs pour bobines.
Vérifiez que les adaptateurs et les roues de
blocage soient toujours fermement serrés
avant d’utiliser la platine d’enregistrement.
@ Compteur de bande électronique
Affiche, en termes d’heures, minutes et
secondes, la distance que la bande a par-
courue a partir du point référentiel de zéro;
Vaffichage peut étre remis 4 0.00.00 4
n‘importe quel moment, en pressant sur
CLEAR.
Le compteur remplit un triple réle: (1)
compteur habituel, (2) compteur de pro-
grammation a utiliser de concert avec
Vinterrupteur PROGRAM, et (3) afficheur
de durée d’éffacement des signaux déter-
minée au moyen de la commande AUTO
SPACER ®.
A titre de compteur habituel, il sert a cal-
culer la durée de bande encore disponible.
Pendant que la bande défile dans le sens
avant, le compteur additionne, alors qu'il
compte a rebours lors d'un défilement en
sens inverse.
Mettre en circuit le compteur de pro-
grammation n‘annule pas le fonctionnement
du compteur habituel. Pour de plus amples
détails concernant le compteur PROGRAM
et le fonctionnement AUTO SPACER, se
référer aux explications correspondantes.
