3. Outline of Preparation Procedure Before Operating the

ECR

This chapter shows the outline of set-up procedure of the ECR before actually starting the ECR operation.

Remove the cash register from the carton, referring to Chap-

ter 2. Unpacking on page 1. And take out all the parts and

accessories.

Remove the tapes and seals for holding parts or protecting

the register surfaces.

Plug the power cord of the register into a wall outlet. Make

sure that the outlet voltage matches that of the power re-

quired for the register.

Insert the REG key into the Control Lock.

Turn the Control Lock to the REG position.

Install the paper roll

(referring to Chapter 8. Installing the

Receipt/Journal Roll on page 12)

Before starting actual transaction entries on the register, ask

your manager if you need additional setting or the pro-

grammed data needs to be changed. For programming, refer

to the following Chapters in Manager’s Guide:
