Replying to a message
- After you open a conversation for viewing, the Message box at the bottom of the screen is
automatically highlighted and prompts you to enter a reply message.
- To send a reply message, enter your message using the keypad or Voice Assistant and press the
left soft key to send it.
Deleting messages or conversations
- When viewing a conversation, you can delete a message by highlighting it, pressing the right soft
key , selecting Delete, and pressing the right soft key again.
- To delete more than one message in a conversation at a time when viewing the conversation,
highlight the Message box at the bottom of the screen, press the right soft key , select Select
messages, select the messages you want to delete from the list, and press the right soft key
twice.
- When viewing a conversation, you can delete it by highlighting the Message box at the bottom of
the screen, pressing the right soft key , selecting Delete thread, and pressing the right soft key
again.
- When you are on the Messages home screen, you can delete a highlighted conversation by
pressing the right soft key , selecting Delete thread, and pressing the right soft key .
- When you are on the Messages home screen, you can delete one or more conversations by
pressing the right soft key , selecting Select thread, selecting the conversations you want to
delete from the list, and pressing the right soft key twice.
14.4 Changing messaging settings
To view and change the messaging settings, go to MENU > Messages, press the right soft key
, and select Settings. You can change the following settings:
Setting Description
Delivery report (SMS)
Choose whether to let your phone notify you when your text message
has reached the recipient.
The default choice is Off.
Delivery report (MMS)
Choose whether to let your phone notify you when your multimedia
message has reached the recipient.
The default choice is Off.
Auto retrieve messages
Select On without roaming to automatically download each multimedia
message's header, body, and attachments when your phone is not
roaming. Select On with roaming to automatically download each
multimedia message's header, body, and attachments even when your
phone is roaming. Select O to always download each multimedia
message's header only.
The default choice is On without roaming.
WAP push
Choose whether to allow (turn on) WAP push messages.
The default choice is On.
Wireless emergency
alerts
View wireless emergency alerts (WEA), and view and change your
phone's settings for WEA.
