Why is there speed loss in one direction on my Terex Bid-Well 4800?
    • G
      gonzalesbrandySep 23, 2025
If your Terex Construction Equipment carriage experiences speed and power loss for the carriage travel drive motor when traveling in one direction, but travel in the return direction is normal, it could be due to several reasons: * The clevis end or rear spool stop is unscrewing from the reversing valve spool. Clean the oil from the clevis end threads, assemble, and apply Loctite. * The carriage travel reversing valve is worn or faulty. Replace the valve. * The hydraulic motor is worn or damaged. Replace the motor.

What to do if my Terex Construction Equipment has no hydraulic power?
    • G
      Gregory BaileyAug 25, 2025
If your Terex Construction Equipment experiences a loss in speed and/or power, or has no hydraulic power, the hydraulic oil level in the tank may be low. Add hydraulic oil until it is within two inches of the top of the tank.

Why is the drag pan leaving an indentation on the Terex Construction Equipment?
    • G
      Gregory LarsonAug 26, 2025
If the drag pan on your Terex Construction Equipment is leaving an indentation on the surface at the curb line or slab edge, it could be due to several reasons: * Too much weight on the drag pan. Remove some or all of the added weight from the pan. * The pan is not being pulled straight. Adjust and hook the chains, ensuring they are hooked the same number of links from the pan. * The pan is being pulled at a point too high. Adjust the height of the hanger frame to approximately 6 inches from the grade.

Why is the paving roller on my Terex Construction Equipment noisy?
    • R
      Rebecca CherryAug 27, 2025
If the paving roller on your Terex Construction Equipment slows or stops under load and there is excessive bearing noise or heat, the paving roller shaft bearings may be damaged. Replace the bearings to resolve this issue.

Why does the finish from the rollers on my Terex Bid-Well 4800 Construction Equipment look like a washboard?
    • T
      Tracy FosterAug 28, 2025
If the finish coming from the rollers on your Terex Construction Equipment looks like a washboard, with possible vibration on the lower paving carriage, the auger shaft may be bent, or the augers may be out of balance. Alternatively, one or more slide blocks on the lower carriage frame may not be contacting the skew ring on the upper carriage. Remove the augers and inspect the shafts for straightness. Attach the augers and check for visual imbalance. Tighten the center pivot bolt so the slide blocks contact the skew ring, still allowing skewing if a skew cylinder is used.

What to do if the Terex Bid-Well 4800 carriage doesn’t reverse direction?
    • X
      xolsenSep 18, 2025
If the carriage on your Terex Construction Equipment doesn’t reverse direction while in the pave position and the machine continues to travel, the reversing valve on the controller may not be completely shifted. Check the adjustment of the Adjustable Linkage Assembly, using the formula provided with Figure 2.

Why does the carriage on my Terex Bid-Well 4800 only work in Non-Reversing Mode?
    • J
      James ReynoldsSep 15, 2025
If the carriage on your Terex Construction Equipment only works in Non-Reversing Mode and will not go into Auto-Reversing Mode after shifting the selector handle, both the MV1 and MV2 Cartridge Valves may be stuck and not shifting. Replace both cartridges.

Why is the paving roller on my Terex Bid-Well 4800 not skewing properly?
    • M
      Michael ThomasSep 6, 2025
If the paving roller on your Terex Construction Equipment does not skew in the proper direction, but is spinning correctly, the hydraulic lines to the hydraulic skew cylinder may be improperly connected. Reverse the hoses leading to the hydraulic skew cylinder.

Why does the paving roller on my Terex Bid-Well 4800 stop under load?
    • A
      Andrew PriceSep 4, 2025
If the paving roller on your Terex Construction Equipment does not operate or stops under load, but the relief valve is okay and the augers operate normally, the roller motor may be damaged or worn, or the reversing valve may have developed internal damage. Replace the motor and the reversing valve.
