ANTI-ICESYSTEM-INSPECTION/CHECK
1.General
A.Thepropelleranti-icecomponentsshouldbeinspectedonascheduledbasisforconditionand
security.
2.100HourInspection
A.Removespinnerdome.Donotruntheenginewiththespinnerdomeremovedordamagetothe
spinnerlletswilloccur.
B.Anti-IceShoes.
(1)Closelycheckeachanti-icefeedshoeforwrinkled,loose,ortornareas,particularlyaroundthe
outboardedges.Lookforabrasionorcuts,especiallyalongtheleadingedgeandthefaceor
atsideofeachpropellerblade.
(a)Foreignobjectdamagemustbegivencarefulinspection,notjustfordamagetothefeed
shoe,butalsoforbladedamagebeneaththeshoe.Shoeelasticitymayobscureblade
damage.Ifthefeedshoeisdamagedorcutcompletelythroughtothebladeorifblade
damagebeneathashoeissuspected,theshoemustberemovedforbladesurface
inspectionintheareaofthefeedshoedamage.
C.SlingerRing.
(1)Visuallychecktheslingerringforconditionandsecurity.Replaceanyslingerringassemblythat
iscracked,warpedorhasanout-of-roundcondition.Makesuretheuidpathintheslingerring
assemblyiscleanandfreeofanydebris.
(2)ChecktheslingerringtoairplaneTKSfeednozzleclearance.
(a)RefertorefertoSlingerRingandFeedNozzleAlignmentCheckforprocedurestocheck
theslingerringclearance.
D.PropellerBladeSprayAssembly.
(1)Visuallycheckthesprayassemblyforconditionandsecurity.Replaceanysprayassemblythat
iscrackedorhasanoticeabledent.Makesurethetubeisclearandfreeofanyblockage.
(2)CheckalignmentofeachTKSpropellersprayassemblywiththepropellerbladeanti-icefeed
shoe.
(a)Withthepropellersetatlowpitch,makesurethecenterlineofeachpropellerbladespray
tubeisalignedwiththerstgroveonthepropellerbladecamberside(forwardside)ofthe
anti-icefeedshoe.
(b)Checkclearancebetweenthespraytubeandthesurfaceofthepropellerbladeanti-ice
feedshoe.

ForpartnumberP34017898-381propellerswithE-8102spinnerassemblies,the
clearancebetweenthespraytubeandthesurfaceofthepropellerbladeanti-icefeed
shoeisbetween0.060and0.090inch(1.52and2.29mm).
E.FluidTubes.
(1)Visuallychecktheuidtubesforconditionandsecurity.Replaceanytubethatiscracked,
damaged,orisinadeterioratedcondition.
