2PullthepropellercontrolbackuntilitreachesredlineRPM.
3AllowtheRPMtostabilize.
4Landtheaircraftwithouttouchingthepropellercontrollever.
5Adjustthepropellerstopscrewtothepropellercontrollocation.
6Rigtheaircraftpowercontrolsinaccordancewiththeinstructionsofthemanufacturer.
7Doanotherighttesttoverifythecorrectsetting.
6.PropellerFailstoControl
A.Propellergoestolowpitch(highRPM)ofitsownaccord.
(1)PossibleCause:
(a)Governorlinkagedisconnected.

Checkandrepairgovernorlinkage.
(b)Enginetransferbearing/collaroilleakagerateexceedsspecication.

Stationorinternationalequivalent.
NOTE:Failureofaninternalgovernorpartmayresultinmetalcontamination
intheengineoillubricationsystem.Ifinternalgovernorfailureis
conrmed,theengineandpropellershouldbecheckedformetal
contaminationinaccordancewiththespecicationsoftheengine
manufacturer.
B.Extremesluggishness,failuretorespondtochangesinRPMsettingorfailuretoholdconstantRPM
withvaryingaircraftattitude.
(1)PossibleCause:
(a)Obstructionintheenginecrankshaft.

Removepropellerandcheckforobstructioninthecrankshaftoilgallery(i.e.
Rags,shippingplugs,etc.).
(b)Internalgovernorproblem.
