INFORMATIONMANUAL
CAUTION:Under-shimmingorover-shimmingofthespinnerfrontsupport
couldresultinspinnerwobble,vibration,and/orbulkheadand
spinnercracking.Followshimmingprocedurescarefully.
(1)Iftheaftspinnerbulkheadandthebulkheadmountingplatewereremovedfromthepropeller
assembly,installthemountingplatesandaftspinnerbulkheadontothepropeller.
NOTE:Bulkheadmountingplatesareusedonspinnerassembliesthatdonothaveanaft
bulkheadthatisinstalledbetweentheenginecrankshaftandthepropellermounting
ange.
(a)Installthemountingplatesontothepropellerassemblywiththesplitbetweentheplates
in-linewiththeNo.1propellerblade.
(b)Torquebolts72to84InchPounds(8.13to9.49N-m).
(c)Securetheboltswithlockwireinsetsofthree.
(d)Installthebulkheadassemblyontothemountingplates.
NOTE:Makesurethebulkheadassemblyispositionedcorrectlytopermitthe
installationofthelletassembliesaftofthepropellerblades.
(e)Torquebolts30to36InchPounds(3.39to4.07N-m).
(2)Ifrequired,installpropellerspinnerlletsonthebulkheadwithscrewsandwashers.
(a)Forpropellersequippedwithananti-icesystem(anti-iceuidshoes),refertotheAnti-Ice
sectionofthismanual,foradditionalinstallationinstructions).
(3)Insertthesamenumberofshimsintospinnersupportaswereremoved,andlightlypressthe
spinnersupportontopropellercylinder.Makesuretheindexmarksmadewithafelttippenalign
betweenthespinnerandthepropellerblade.
(4)Putthespinnershellontothebulkheadandlletassemblywiththealignmentmarksmatched.
(a)Pressrmlyaftonthespinner.
(b)Makesurethespinnerholesareapproximatelyone-halfholediameterforwardofthe
matchingholesinthebulkhead.
(c)Addorsubtractshimstospinnersupportuntilspinnershellmountingholesare
approximatelyhalfaholefrombeingintruealignmentwithbulkheadholes.
(5)Pushonthespinnershellanduseanawlorasmallpunchinanadjacentholetomovethe
spinnershellscrewholeintoalignmentwithbulkheadholeandinstallwasherandscrew.Repeat
thisprocedureonopposingholesuntileightevenlyspacedscrewsandwashersareinstalled.
(6)Securepropellerspinnertothebulkheadandlletassemblieswithremainingscrewsand
washers.
F.OperationalCheckofInstalledPropeller
(1)RefertotheapplicableairplanePilot'sOperatingHandbook,PreightInspectionandBefore
Takeoff(enginerunning)PropellerControlcheckofthepropellercyclingfromhighRPMtolow
RPMandbacktohighRPM.Thisisasufcientoperationalcheckoftheinstalledpropeller.
