If your Textron Tractor engine won't turn over, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure the Forward - Reverse control lever is in neutral; if not, adjust the neutral linkage. Also, disengage the P.T.O. Another potential cause is a dead battery, so check, charge, or replace it as needed. Inspect the wiring for defects, broken, or loose connections, and use a test light to check the circuits' continuity. Additionally, the starter or starter solenoid might be defective; test by using a jumper from the battery terminal to the solenoid terminal. Finally, check if the safety switches are out of adjustment and ensure they are fully depressed.
