Trouble Pairing Hub to WiFi Network:

  • Ensure the latest app version is installed.
  • Confirm you are connecting the correct hub to the correct app (V1 for Wi-Fi Bridge, V2 for Wireless Link).
  • Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz network. If only one network is broadcasting, confirm it's 2.4 GHz.
  • Ensure your device (phone/tablet) is connected to the 2.4 GHz network during setup. If connected to both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, forget the 5 GHz network until setup is complete.
  • Ensure the hub is within range of the router. Move it next to the router during setup if needed.
  • Temporarily disconnect any Wi-Fi extenders/WAPs during setup. This also applies to mesh networks.
  • Do not connect the Ethernet cable until after successful Wi-Fi pairing.
  • Ensure the network is visible.
  • Confirm an active internet connection on your device.
  • Temporarily disable security settings on the Wi-Fi network if they prevent connection.
    • For IT Network Administrators: Bridge Mode must be on, Client Isolation off, Wireless Link uses TCP commands via port 1487, Static IP addresses are not used (MAC address can be used to reserve a static IP).

Trouble Pairing Shades to Hub (After Hub Has Been Paired to WiFi):

  • Ensure the bridge is within range of the shade/motor (approx. 60ft).
  • Ensure the hub is positioned on its base, not on its side.
  • Move the hub to different outlets for best reception.
  • Do not enclose the bridge in a cabinet or closet.
  • Expose and angle the antenna on the motor towards the room.
  • A TSS Repeater or additional Wireless Link hub may be needed for increased radio frequency coverage.

Hub Disconnected from Wi-Fi Due to Power Outage:

  • Unplug the hub from the outlet and plug it back in. It will automatically reconnect.

Connecting to a New Router / Changed Password on Existing Router:

  • Re-pair the hub to the Wi-Fi network using the setup instructions (factory reset is not required).

Apple HomeKit Troubleshooting:

  • Apple Home integration is a required step and cannot be bypassed.
  • Keep Apple Home open on the device during The Shade Store V2 app setup.
  • If the app doesn't recognize the QR Code, select "ENTER CODE MANUALLY" and input the 8-digit code from the hub's label.
  • Confirm Apple Home app is installed. If setup was attempted multiple times without it, delete all versions of the hub from Apple Home and retry.
    • To delete hubs from Apple Home: Open Apple Home > Click home icon > Scroll to "Hubs & Bridges" > Select hub(s) > "Remove Bridge from Home."
  • If necessary, completely delete and reinstall the Apple Home app.
    • To properly delete Apple Home app: Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Home > "Delete App" (not "Offload App").
  • Ensure Apple HomeKit Privacy Settings are toggled ON for The Shade Store V2.
    • To check/resolve: Settings > Search "HomeKit" > Toggle slider to green for The Shade Store V2 app.
