Why is the CD player not working normally on The Singing Machine SMG-138 Karaoke System?
    • E
      Eduardo MoranJul 29, 2025
If your CD player isn't working correctly or displays unusual symbols, consider these potential causes: Ensure the disc is inserted correctly, with the correct side up. Check if the disc is dirty and, if so, gently wipe it clean with a soft cloth. The disc might be scratched or warped, in which case, try using a new disc. Make sure you are using a standard disc. If moisture has formed inside the CD deck, wait 20-30 minutes for it to dry out. As a last resort, try resetting the Singing Machine by unplugging it for 30 seconds.

If no song lyrics appear on the screen when using The Singing Machine Karaoke System, ensure the video cable is correctly connected from the system's VIDEO OUT to the TV's VIDEO IN. Also, make sure the TV's source selector is set to VIDEO input using your TV remote. If your TV lacks a video line input, connect the system's VIDEO OUT to the VIDEO IN of your VCR, or use an RF Modulator connected to the TV cable input. Verify the disc is a CDG and clean if necessary.
