What to do if the wax tank of Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment will not heat up?
    • K
      Kristie SandersAug 16, 2025
If the wax tank on your Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment will not heat up, first ensure the wax tank heater is switched on. If the problem persists, switch the embedding module off for 30 seconds and then back on again to reset the control system. Compare the set point temperature to the actual temperature - if the set point temperature is not achieved after a suitable length of time: * Switch off the embedding module * Wait for 20 minutes and then switch the embedding module back on. Perform a Heater System Check.

What to do if wax will not dispense from Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment?
    • G
      gordonangelaAug 25, 2025
If the wax will not dispense from your Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment, first, ensure there's enough wax in the tank. If there is sufficient wax, give the wax time to melt, ensuring the temperature setting is adequate for the type of wax being used. Compare the set point temperature to the actual temperature. If the set point temperature is not achieved after a suitable length of time: * Switch off the embedding module * Wait for 20 minutes and then switch the embedding module back on. Also, check that the wax dispense flow control is open by turning the knob counter-clockwise. If the problem persists, switch the embedding module off for 30 seconds and then back on again to reset the control system and perform a Heater System Check.

Why is the temperature control erratic on my Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment?
    • B
      Brandi CummingsAug 30, 2025
If your Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment exhibits erratic temperature control, switch the embedding module off for 30 seconds and then back on again to reset the control system. Compare the set point temperature to the actual temperature - if the set point temperature is not achieved after a suitable length of time: * Switch off the embedding module * Wait for 20 minutes and then switch the embedding module back on.

Why is wax not fully melted in my Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment?
    • A
      Anthony ConleySep 2, 2025
If wax is not fully melted in your Thermo Scientific Laboratory Equipment, allow more time for the wax to melt, ensuring the temperature setting is high enough for the wax being used. Compare the set point temperature to the actual temperature - if the set point temperature is not achieved after a suitable length of time: * Switch off the embedding module * Wait for 20 minutes and then switch the embedding module back on. If the wax surface is not melted, close the tissue storage cover during warm-up, as draughts can cause a skin to form on the surface of the wax.
