Driving Through Water
WARNING
Driving the vehicle through water could result in the loss of vehicle control and may lead to serious injury or
death.
Never cross deep or fast-flowing water with your TOMCAR®.
After leaving water and then traveling on a level surface, always dry the brakes by applying light pressure to
the brake pedal repeatedly until braking action is normal.
Never cross water at depth greater than recommended below or at high speeds. Severe damage to the electric
powertrain and or injury can occur.
Your TOMCAR® can operate through water up to a maximum recommended depth equal to your TOMCAR®’s floor
level.
1. Always determine water depths and current before entering.
2. Deeper water levels than recommended can result is critical electric powertrain damage and may result in
electric shock.
3. Choose a crossing where both banks have inclines that are as gradual as possible.
4. Proceed slowly, avoiding rocks and any other obstacles that might be in your way.
NOTE:
After running your vehicle in water, it is critical that you perform the services outlined in the Periodic Maintenance
Chart. Give special attention to the battery pack, high power connections, transmission oil, final drive oil and all grease
fittings.
