Storage
Ifyouwishtostorethemachineforalongperiodof
time,thefollowingstepsshouldbeperformedprior
tostorage:
1.Alwaysshutofftheengine,removethekey(if
equipped),waitforallmovingpartstostop,
andallowthemachinetocoolbeforeadjusting,
cleaning,storing,orrepairingthemachine.
2.Removeaccumulationsofdirtandoldgrass
clippings.Sharpenthebladesandbedknives,if
necessary;refertothecuttingunitOperator's
Manual.Usearustpreventiveonbedknivesand
blades.Greaseandoilalllubricationpoints.
3.Blockupthewheelstoremoveanyweighton
thetires.
4.Drainandreplacethehydraulicuidandlter
andinspectthehydrauliclinesandttings.
Replace,ifnecessary;refertoChanging
theHydraulicFluidandFilter(page48)and
CheckingtheHydraulicLinesandHoses(page
48).
5.Allfuelshouldberemovedfromthefueltank.
Runtheengineuntilitstopsfromlackoffuel.
Replacethefuellter;refertoReplacingthe
FuelFilter/WaterSeparator(page39).
6.Whiletheengineisstillwarm,draintheoilfrom
thecrankcase.Rellitwithfreshoil;referto
ChangingtheEngineOilandFilter(page38).
7.Cleandirtandchafffromthecylinder,cylinder
headns,andblowerhousing.
8.Removethebatteryandchargeitfully.Either
storeitontheshelforonthemachine.Leave
thecablesdisconnectedifitisstoredonthe
machine.Storethebatteryinacoolatmosphere
toavoidquickdeteriorationofthechargeinthe
battery.
9.Ifpossible,storethemachineinawarm,dry
location.
