InstallingtheSteeringCylinder(2-WheelDrive)
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthesteeringcylinder,lubricate
newO-ringswithcleanhydraulicuid,positiontheO-ringstothettings,
andinstallthettingstothesteeringcylinderports;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittingintotheComponent
Port)(page5–11).
2.Positionthesteeringcylindertothemachine.Ensuretoplacethespacerring
andthrustwasherinlocationsthatyounotedduringremoval(Figure98).
3.Securethesteeringcylindertothemachinewiththebolts(items1and8
inFigure97)and2locknuts.Torquethelocknutsto176to203N∙m(130
to150ft-lb).
4.Removethecapsandplugsfromthehydraulichosesandttings.
5.LubricateandinstallnewO-ringsonthesteeringcylinderttings.Correctly
connectthehydraulichosestothesteeringcylinder;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicHoseandTube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)(page5–9).
6.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulicreservoir(frontaxle)andadd
correctquantityofuidifnecessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
7.Lubricatethesteeringcylindergreasettings.
8.Operatethemachinefunctionsslowlyuntilairisoutofsystem;referto
ChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page5–85).
9.Checkthatthesteeringcylinderdoesnotcontacttheaxleorframeas
cylindermovesfromfullyretractedtofullyextended.
