1.Removetherearaxledriveshaftfromthemachine;refertoRemovingthe
RearAxleDriveshaft(4-WheelDrive)(page8–43).
2.Removethesnapringsthatsecurethebearingsintheyokes.
IMPORTANT
Supporttheyokeswhenremovingandinstallingthebearingsto
preventdamage.
3.Useapresstoremovethecrossandbearingsfromtheyokes.Cleanthe
driveshaftyokes.
4.Installnewcrossandbearingsasfollows:
A.Applyathicklayerofgreasetothebearingboresintheendyokeand
shaftyoke.
B.Press1bearingpartiallyintotheyoke.
C.Insertthecrossintotheyokeandbearing.
D.Holdthecrossinalignmentandpressthebearinginuntilithitstheyoke.
E.Installthesnapringintotheyokegroovetosecuretheinstalledbearing.
F.Placesecondbearingintoyokeboreandontocrossshaft.Pressthe
bearingintotheyokeandsecurewiththesnapring.
G.Repeattheprocedureforotheryoke.
H.Applygreasetothecrossuntilitcomesoutofallthe4bearingcups.
5.Ensurethattheassembledjointmoveswithoutanybinding.Lightlyrapthe
yokelugswithasoft-facedhammertoremoveslightbinding.Ifthebinding
continues,disassemblethejointtoidentifythesourceofbinding.
6.Installthedriveshafttothemachine;refertoInstallingtheRearAxle
Driveshaft(4-WheelDrive)(page8–44).
