Storage
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandlower
theloaderarms.
2.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
3.Removedirtandgrimefromtheexternalparts
oftheentiremachine,especiallytheengine.
Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideofboththe
cylinderheadnsandblowerhousingofthe
engine.
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withmilddetergentandwater.Donot
pressure-washthemachine.Avoid
excessiveuseofwater,especiallynearthe
controlpanel,engine,hydraulicpumps,and
motors.
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page24).
5.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingthe
Machine(page23).
6.Changetheengineoil;refertoChangingthe
EngineOilandFilter(page26).
7.Removethesparkplugsandcheckthecondition
ofeach;refertoServicingtheSparkPlug(s)
(page27).
8.Withthesparkplugsremovedfromtheengine,
pour30ml(2tablespoons)ofengineoilinto
eachspark-plughole.
9.Placeragsoverthespark-plugholestocatch
anyoilspray,thenusethestartertocrankthe
engineanddistributetheoilinsidethecylinder.
10.Installthesparkplugs,butdonotinstallthe
wiresonthesparkplugs.
11.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressure(page31).
12.Chargethebattery;refertoChargingtheBattery
(page30).
13.Forstorageover30days,preparethemachine
asfollows:
A.Addapetroleum-based
stabilizer/conditionertofuelinthe
tank.Followmixinginstructionsfrom
thestabilizermanufacturer.Donotuse
analcohol-basedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenitismixedwithfreshfueland
isusedatalltimes.
B.Runtheenginetodistributeconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystemfor5minutes.
C.Shutofftheengine,allowittocool,and
drainthefueltanks;refertoDrainingthe
FuelT ank(s)(page29).
D.Starttheengineandrunituntilitshutsoff.
E.Engagethechoke.
F.Startandruntheengineuntilitdoesnot
startagain.
G.Disposeoffuelproperly;recycleitaccording
tolocalcodes.
Important:Donotstorefuelcontaining
stabilizer/conditionerlongerthanthe
durationrecommendedbythefuel-stabilizer
manufacturer.
14.Checkandtightenallfasteners.Repairor
replaceanypartthatisworn,damaged,or
missing.
15.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paint
isavailablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
16.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageor
storagearea.Removethekeyfromtheignition
switchandkeepitinamemorableplace.
17.Coverthemachinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.
Important:Whenremovingthemachinefrom
storage,chargethebattery;refertoChargingthe
Battery(page30).
